Fishes of the Glossogobius celebius-complex constitute a difficult taxonomic assemblage; they are spread in fresh and brackish waters all over SE Asia and Oceania.

Rungus Longhouses are traditionally build on stilts. These houses are located in Kudat District. Some rungus still maintain their ancient ethnic way of life and with a little luck one can see Rungus people wearing traditional costumes made of hand-grown and made-spun cotton.

Considered a tourists attraction we expected hordes of people, souvenir stores and all the related inevitable stuff. Fortunately, we encountered no tourist, but relaxing silence, just a couple of chicken pawing in the sand. There is no entrance admission required.
The Tip of Borneo - Tanjung Simpang Mengayau
The Top of Borneo is the northernmost point of insular Borneo, also located in Kudat District. This is where the South China Sea from the west meets the Sulu Sea from the east. There is no entrance admission required. Enjoy the stunning view!
The ‘perfect’ beach and crystal blue water. There were just two local ladies fishing.

The crab was burying itself into the wet tidal sand with amazing speed. Just three seconds later the crab was entirely gone.
